11 May 2026 – Lliber River Walk

26 on todays walk, almost twice as many as last week

Not sure why this is so

As we enter the summer months everyone has more visitors and goes on holiday

So that may be playing a part in the changing numbers

It is hard to believe that in just three weeks it will be June 2026

We start our walks an hour earlier in June and September

And hope to get to the bar before the hottest part of the day

It is usual that weekly numbers fall dramatically during this period

And no doubt the same will happen this year

The temperature was similar to last week but felt much warmer

Right from the start it was clear that it would be very hot

There is not much shade on this walk

And the dry river where we have our banana break is particularly exposed

So we had to look for somewhere with shade for our break

With such a large group this was not easy

The best option was the large tree decorated by school children

However no seating and we all had to huddle to keep out of the direct sun

Fortunately there was plenty of shade in the bar after the walk

Temperature – 18 to 24c

Time taken – 3 hours

Distance – 9km
